We’ve updated the fabrics so that the back doesn’t stretch too long when you load up the pockets. And we’ve updated the sleeve fabric as well as the fit, maintaining super-stretchy fabrics for a great fit on any body shape without feeling too tight. The ideal tight for most of your winter riding, the Velocissimo is focused on comfort for riding in mild to cool conditions. We've used our Thermoflex fabric for most of the tight. It's not our warmest fabric, nor does it repel water like Nano Flex, but it is the softest, stretchiest winter tight fabric. The comfort is immediate and lasting. For the lower leg from just below the knee, we switch to our Nano Flex fleeced stretch-woven fabric that's both warm and highly water repellent for protection against spray coming off wet roads. It's also highly stretchy, and we leave a raw edge so we can construct the ankles without zippers while making sure the tight remains easy to put on and take off. A Better Short Shorts are an obsession at Castelli. They're the most vital piece of clothing and one of the hardest to get right. Even though the Prima is our entry-level short, it shows that we won't compromise anything for comfort and performance. It starts with the women's-specific KISS Air2 seat pad. Just the name gives an idea of the process of constant improvement, which started with a soft KISS pad that was improved by making it more breathable (Air) and then improved again in the latest update to use the softest-ever top fabric (2). It's ready for your next big ride indoors or out. We've updated the fabric to the new Pro Dry Soft, which has a smooth matte finish that feels cool on the skin while being very supportive and quick to dry. We wanted this short to be just right for many years to come, so little details like the reflective patches are stitched in instead of being glued on, and the GIRO3 elastic has the grip woven right into the fabric. PROSECCO TECH SHORT SLEEVE The first goal of this base layer is to move moisture away from your skin while adding minimal insulation for those cool days when your riding intensity is high enough and your outer layers are warm enough. The areas covered by the bibtight around the waist and up the back can get hot, so we used a lightweight PrimaLoft fabric to help even out the temperature. This base layer works best when in contact with the skin, so both fabrics are very stretchy and the cut is slim. On extremely cold days we'll use this as a first layer under a Flanders Warm second base layer, or under a thermal jersey. It's very effective at moving sweat away from the body. Prologue or Pro Logo The Prologo name is Italian for "prologue," the opening salvo in a Grand Tour. But many of our customers pronounce it like "Pro Logo." And we don't mind at all. The Prologo Jersey, now in its sixth generation, does feature a big logo, but more than that it brings a lot of tech directly from our experience with pro racing. The fabric is remarkably soft yet stretchy and features bioceramic nanoparticles added to the fused polymer, which reflect far infrared light to both protect you from hot sun and help the body keep itself warm. The construction also borrows a lot of cues from pro racing: the same drop-tail construction that helps the jersey sit right around the waist while allowing generous pockets that sit lower on the back, the wraparound side panels that ventilate the back without letting in too much air from the front, and the easy-sliding YKK Vislon zipper. That jacket used to be a simple affair — a nylon shell — but the lack of stretch meant that it had to be cut on the generous side to fit all body shapes, both on and off the bike. We've completely reimagined what the shell jacket should be and how it's constructed. We've added panels on the sides and the sleeves in a very high-stretch yet tightly knit fabric that allows us to give the jacket a modern, close-to-body fit for aero gains on any terrain, and it actually keeps more heat in than a jacket that's flapping about. We've kept it very compact so that it can pack away into minimal space in a jersey pocket. The Entrata Thermal Glove focuses on the essential elements of a winter cycling glove. We made the outer layer both windproof for warmth and stretchy for comfort. Then we added a layer of PrimaLoft insulation and an inner layer of lightly brushed fleece. This construction makes the glove insanely soft inside. On the outside you have a full synthetic leather palm with a silicone grip pattern, touchscreen inserts on the index finger and thumb, and a reflective logo.
