Leverage-boosting bars provide added control, and an eye-watering selection of mounting points mean you won’t need to leave anything at home. Its simplicity makes it easy to service, too.

Lively when ridden unloaded, the Beyond+ remains stable once laden with bikepacking bags. Taking off-road riding to its limits, the Beyond+ won’t take no for an answer. 2.8’’ tubeless ready tyres, as well as 27.5’’ diameter wheels, which will cruise over anything – a joy to ride unloaded but just as capable with a full rack of bike packing equipment. Powered by a Sram 12-speed SX Eagle groupset, only gradients close to vertical will be unmanageable, thanks to the impressive 11 – 50T cassette. And when you do crest the summit at a remarkable speed, twin-piston Level hydraulic brakes will stop the bike in an instant. With dropper post routing and suspension-corrected geometry, you can add both later if desired.

If you’re looking for a rigid adventure bike that you can also chuck around in the woods and isn’t phased by technical singletrack, then our Beyond+ is spot on. Starting with a double butted steel suspension corrected frame with a quad-butted ovalized downtube and matching Seido Steel BPS fork, this is the 4 x 4 of the Beyond line, capable of swallowing huge 29-inch tires on wide 35 mm rims for that go anywhere experience. Both frame and fork come with multiple mounting points, including offset triple cage mounts on the seat stays and forward-facing mounts on the fork for maximum clearance. SRAM SX Eagle will get you wherever you are going with its 11 - 50T cassette, and SRAM Level brakes with a 200 mm front rotor will haul you and your cargo back down to earth if you get a little carried away. Our EXT is where the Hook really starts to lead you astray. Utilising Columbus Cromor double-butted steel tubing, a tapered headtube, internal routing for dynamo lighting, and with our signature number of frame mounts, the EXT is ready for anything. Rolling on aggressive 27.5 x 2.0’’ WTB Ranger tyres, this is one very capable and exciting bike when you turn off the tarmac and head onto the trail. We fitted a Seido MGV carbon fork offering triple cage and low rider mounts, internal dynamo cable routing, as well as huge clearance for muddy high volume tyres. Thanks to the RockShox Rudy suspension fork, no surface will shake, rattle, or roll you while riding the Beyond SUS. The frame features top tube mounts, triple cage mounts on the downtube and even underneath, so you can fit your cargo in your desired configuration. The Sram Apex 1x11 groupset provides the power, thanks to a generous 11 – 42T cassette. Tubeless-ready WTB ST i23 rims with WTB Venture Light tyres roll fast and smooth, while Bombtrack Tau 12mm through-axle hubs means you will tackle trail-side repairs in a flash.

Which to choose: speed or storage space? You can have both with a Hook. With an able steel frame and carbon fork, this bike is fast and versatile. Size-matched 650B or 700C wheels across the sizes provide control and comfort, while the Shimano GRX groupset and double crankset give you a close ratio with a broad range of gears. Take your pick from a range of fixing points, including a direct mount for a top tube bag, triple cage mounts, rear rack and fender. Or, leave it stripped back and fly. The Hook might have been designed as a gravel racer, but that doesn’t stop it from also being a perfect tourer, commuter, or even summer-season crossbike.

If the wilderness beckons, the Arise Tour won’t stand in your way with its twin Tubus racks, mudguards and Supernova dynamo lights. Regardless of load, the Ames sub-compact 30 / 46T crankset and generous 11 – 42T cassette mean you’ll always have enough gears to tackle those steeper gradients. For a modern touch, flared bars allow for added packing space as well as sturdier handling while riding on the drops. For touring purists, bar-end shifters give you peace of mind over more complicated combination shifters. The distance-orientated Arise Tour's racks, mudguards, and dynamo lights help to escape far beyond the limits of the city.

The Audax, with its slender steel frame, light carbon fork, and many mounts for luggage, will let you take long-distance riding to the limit. As the kilometers roll by, hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power while a sub-compact chainset handles propulsion. A combination of WTB Horizon and Byway tires are fast-rolling over gravel, mud, or dirt. The integrated rear light mount brings discipline into the modern age. Topped off with Ritchey finishing kit, you’ll reach the coast before this bike gives up. Fast on tarmac, and smooth over broken ground, its broad tires contain enough air to carry you and your kit comfortably above a range of surfaces.

This bike will take you further. Designed with the support of our family of field testers, the Beyond 2 is the natural evolution of the Beyond 1. Tried and tested fast-rolling wheels, multiple mounting points, and a range of gears remain. A Supernova dynamo lighting system joins the bike’s features, so you never have to charge your batteries – ideal for excursions that go that little bit further. And at the front, a demi-porteur rack supports more cargo space that doesn’t compromise steering and handling. This is where our classic Italian steel frame comes face to face with 21st-century American engineering. The Hook Rival AXS uses the same Columbus Cromor double-butted frame as the EXT, but adds wireless electronic 12-speed shifting from SRAM. Using the 10 – 44T cassette and a direct mount 38T chainring means you’ll be even faster along the singletrack sections, plus you’ll be still able to laugh at the technical climbs. Seido’s MGV fork offers loads of mud clearance for grippy WTB 2.0’’ Ranger tyres seated on wide rims for greater support.. Get the map out, plan a route with your friends, load up and head off.

Our Beyond+ ADV is the ultimate offroad adventure machine, designed to keep rolling on its enormous 29 x 3’’ WTB Ranger tyres. Whether pumped harder for speed or softer for loose conditions, they will make light work of any and all trails. The ADV’s steel double butted frame is dropper post compatible and suspension corrected, and should you wish to experiment, it has all the mounting points you could ask for and more. We’ve fitted a Jones Loop bar for multiple hand positions to help you stretch out as well as offering mounting points for all your essentials. Seido supplies their BPC carbon fork with triple mounts and internal dynamo routing for lighting upgrades, SRAM’s GX transmission with its Eagle 10 – 52T cassette will keep you rolling up and over everything and Magura’s Trail Sport 4 brakes will stop you on a button. Are you heading down the path least travelled? For a drop handlebar bike, the Hook EXT seldom faces terrain it cannot handle. A Columbus steel frame, a dedicated carbon fork and a sturdy 27.5’’ wheelset equip the EXT with an armoury to ride where other bikes would surely suffer. A Sram 1x11 Rival groupset suitably gives this machine the gears and brakes to match. As capable on backcountry campouts as it is on post-work blasts, the Hook EXT remains the choice when you’re unsure of the terrain, but know you want to have fun riding it.

With the ability to carry serious loads, triple mounts on the forks and three separate bottle cage fixings allow you to carry as much as you need with you. The Hook EXT C comes complete with a carbon frame and V2 carbon fork with triple cage mounts for speedier off-road raids. Sram provides the bike's 10 – 42T XD cassette for a great range of gears, so you can keep the pace high over whichever surface you decide to tear across. Our friends at Hunt handle the hoops, providing the bike with a tubeless-ready Adventure Sport 27.5" wheelset. Finished with head-turning tan-wall WTB Venture tires, onlookers will have to be quick if they want to catch a glimpse as you fly through the undergrowth. It comes in this year's glossy metallic black colorway, too.
